Lang, a noted mathematician attacks Seymour Lipset and others for a sloppy survey of American professors they did in 1977. Lang was also active in the anti-Vietnam war movement, and in a noted case attacked political scientist Samuel P. Huntington for his use of math in justifying the apartheid regime in South Africa. In later years he became an HIV denialist and until his death in 2005 continued to attack the "AIDS establishment"
