[1920s?], xiv, 402p., very good first printing thus in two-toned cloth boards with paper title labels on cover and spine, bookplate indicating book was purchased in 1950, clipped and worn dj with two-inch piece missing at tail of spine. The 1968 Heinemann edition is Young 2533 P* but this translation predates that edition. Broadway Translations. This translation was left unfinished in 1920 when Pott died. Wright piucked it up and likey finished in a few years. An ad on inner flap is for the 1923 Dutton publication of Tristram and Ysolt translated by Loomis. The Epigrams were written by Martial approximately A.D. 85-90
