Putnam, London. 1944, 261p., reprint of the 1943 first issue, cloth boards gilt. Casing is slightly rolled, tail is minutely frayed, spine panel a bit faded, and inside expect a few old dog-ears. Worn fragments of the dust jacket are laid in including the color cover image. The Spanish Civil War serves as backdrop for Toynbee's novel.
