The End of the World's Fair, San Francisco, CA. 1984, Four-panel brochure made from folded 8.5x11 inch sheet, illustrated with cartoons of costumed punks and freaks. The Fair was a radical cultural festival and parade held in S.F.'s Dolores Park, which included floats on themes such as "Prisoners of daily life" and a promotion for Milk of Amnesia. The brochure states "The limitation of carnival has always been its social control function- a safety valve on the year-round pressure cooker of misery. We want our carnival to have the opposite function, that of mobilizing our energies for renewed assault on all the forces that stifle and mutilate life." According to the Processed World website, "The organizing for the event was done out of the PW offices (primarily by Gary Roush), though the committee behind the Fair was separate from the PW collective."
