Comet Press, New York. 1959, 134p., foreword, illustrations, very good in cloth and blue dj. Personal inscription signed by the author with corrections in his hand on several pages. A Milestone Book. Autobiography of growing up African American in the Deep South by a retired octogenarian Postal employee from Georgia. This copy differs greatly from the edition published by American Press. There are textual differences throughout (example: in the forward to the AP edition, a sentence reads "Since color alone..." while in this copy it reads "Since complexion alone..." A poem about the KKK is excised in this edition, and illustratons are present in this edition. The foreword is shortened. It is unclear which edition holds precedence.
