New York City and County Suffrage Committee of Colored Citizens

The suffrage question in relation to colored voters in the state of New York

the Committee, New York. [1860?], Single leaf so printed and folded as to make 4p. handbill, 8.5x5 inch wraps, extensively soiled and edgeworn with small hole at spinefold and a half-inch closed tear at the fore edge, neither flaw affecting text. Also expect two old bits of pencilling near title: the word colored underlined, the date "1860" added. About 1,100 words. A polemic calling for amending the state constitution to allow full suffrage for African American citizens. The noted physician/abolitionist James McCune Smith chaired the Committee, and James P. Miller and John J. Zuille served as its secretaries. OCLC lists four holdings.
