Petals blown adrift

Joseph Ishill, New York. 1918, 94p., rubricated title page with a stylish nude in vignette, running head and initials in red and blue, decorated paper boards with paper vellum spine. A dampstain has slightly swollen the head and top margin of boards, producing mild discolorations, also affects top edge of textblock. Freeman's first book of poetry, one of 15 (of 260) copies printed on Japanese vellum. Note that colophon describes the ultra-limited fifteen as having been "illuminated by hand in water colors" but we are informed by Ishill's daughter none were so touched up.
