[Old Royalty Book] Publishers, London. 1931, 263p., inscribed by Donisthorpe, "To Joan / from / Sheila"; hardbound first edition clothbacked spine over metallic marbled paper-over-boards, printed paper spine label, top edge tint. A nice production with extreme wear and tear: front free endsheet is out and adjacent blank glued awkwardly to pastedown, front hinge cracked; rear hinge "repaired" less drastically; publisher's slug mysteriously crossed out on title page (offsetting and mild bleed-through), very heavy edge and corner wear, scattered foxing, spine label very darkened and worn. On the plus side, signature is in old sepia nib (probably at publication) and her nice handwriting. But, as is. Grier A***
